Central Hainan cuisine developed from the abundance of the tropical rainforest, where livestock roam free, and wild greens and fruits are available year round. This is the home of the “five footed pig, the “surfing fish”, and the “wandering cow”, along with many other fascinating and tasty local dishes. This is local, green, organic eating at its finest, and also the origin of Hainan’s unique Li and Miao cuisines.
