Hainan Province Museum to Extend Hours

Dates: Oct., 2019        Location: Haikou

Beginning in October, the Hainan Province Museum, located in Haikou, will extend opening hours from 9 AM to 9 PM every Saturday. The Hainan Province Museum is currently open from Tuesday – Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and closed on Mondays for maintenance. There is no entrance charge, but you will need to show photo ID such as your passport.

This is the official museum of Hainan Province, and it’s the perfect first stop on your visit to Hainan. Here, you’ll learn about the island’s history and culture, see the remains of ancient shipwrecks recovered from deep under the South China Sea, find out what minority peoples live on the island, and may even be lucky enough to see experts demonstrating how to make traditional Hainan arts and crafts. The bilingual signs will help you to make sense of the many amazing displays, some of which are designed so that you can walk right into them and become part of the story of Hainan! Regular temporary exhibits also bring in fascinating relics from other parts of China, so there’s always something new to see!

Location: #68 Guoxing Ave., Haikou海口市国兴大道68
