As the Chinese saying goes, “food is life.” If you’ve had Chinese food before, you know how amazing it is! You certainly can’t miss the fresh seafood and local delicacies when you are in Hainan. In addition to the plentiful seafood, there are all kinds of sweet and mouthwatering melons and fruits all year round in Hainan. There’s so much here you have to try!

You can’t miss Haikou Qilou Snack Street for a taste of the more than 2,000 tasty local Hainan snacks.  Try Qingbuliang sweet dessert soup, Baoluo Rice Noodles, Mango Rice Noodle Rolls, Coconut Rice, BBQ oysters, beef skewers...

The Banqiao Road Seafood Market in Meilan District is the most popular seafood spot for Haikou locals. Just select the seafood you'd like to buy in the market, and it is prepared immediately according to your taste. The prices are reasonable and the seafood is of great quality and freshness.

Visit the Fushan Coffee Culture Town in Chengmai County, where you can enjoy a taste of locally grown Fushan coffee and find out about the history of coffee cultivation here in Hainan. Tour the Coffee Museum for a deep dive into Hainan’s unique coffee culture!

In the afternoon you can grab a big bite to eat  in Lingao County. Of course you have to try the roast suckling pig and water spinach, but don’t stop there! Ask the chef for his personal specialty, and discover something amazing and new in every restaurant!
